Unambitious Hiking for Queers + Friends

Would you rather get a little fresh air, meet some new people, and call it a day? Maybe you’d rather sleep in than start hiking at 6am and train for climbing Mt. Whitney while checking your watch to make sure you’re on pace. If this sounds like you, you’ve found the right place.

We’re going to start off with an unambitious hike with minimal elevation change: about 3.5 miles round trip. You can find a partial description here, but we will not be starting from the location described on that page.

Directions: Take Sunset Blvd to Douglas St. Turn north on Douglas St (the same side of the road as the Domino’s Pizza sign). At the top of the steep hill, Douglas St. will dead end into Elysian Park Dr. There is street parking. We will be gathered to the left of where the two roads meet, at the gate that closes the “path” (emergency road) to vehicles. The organizer will be wearing a rainbow bandana.

Dogs are welcome, just know that there will be plenty of others on this path. All ages are welcome. Let us know if there are ability accommodation questions or help we can offer (no stairs, but much uneven terrain and a short, steep downhill area).

Yay queers + friends hiking!

Sunday, February 23. 11am.
Location: Elysian Park (directions above) event.
