LA Genderqueer Parenting: 2 events

August 12, 2011

Both events are Sunday Aug 14.
Event 1: Queer Families, Queer Animals: A day at the zoo! 10am-2pm. LA Zoo, 5333 Zoo Drive. Cohosted by LA Genderqueer Parenting and Queer Parent Play Group of LA. Facebook event. Meetup.com event.

Event 2: What a Queer Way to Make a Family! 7-10pm. See facebook event for location.

This is an evening meeting (for adults and tiny babes only) to talk about everything related to bringing a baby or child into our lives. Badass birth expert Chula Doula will be there to talk about queer birth support, natural birth options, and what queer families can expect at the hospital.”

ABOUT THE ZOO EVENT: We are co-hosting this event with the “Queer Parents Play Group of L.A.” (you can find them on Meetup). For this event, we will meet in front of the members kiosk (immediately to the left of the entrance) around 10:15am, and we will enter the zoo at 10:30. If you arrive after 10:30am, you will miss us, but you can text Jane at (see facebook event) and we will let you know where we are.
As always, remember to bring water, lunch, sunscreen, and everything else you will need for a day in the sun. There is a playground inside the zoo.
While we are not specifically a transgender parenting group, many of our members are trans-identified. We welcome all trans people who support genderqueer parents and kids!

About the evening event: This is an evening meeting (for adults and tiny babes only) to talk about everything related to bringing a baby or child into our lives. Badass birth expert Chula Doula will be there to talk about queer birth support, natural birth options, and what queer families can expect at the hospital. We hope to also have some experienced queer parents there who can talk about their adoption, fostering, hospital, and/o…r homebirth experiences. This meeting is for folks who are thinking about maybe someday having kids (or having more kids!), and for people who want to share with others their stories about adoption and birth.
