LAUSD bullying summit
The LA Unified School District & the LA Gay and Lesbian Center have created a partnership to end LGBT bullying and suicides in LA County. LAUSD Board President Monica Garcia, Superintendent Dr. John Deasy & Assistant Superintendent Earl Perkins will be in attendance. This summit will put a spotlight on any gaps in services that the LAUSD currently does not provide and how we can work with our LGBT community partners to fill in those gaps and ensure the safety of our LGBT students.
To be addressed: Report of Findings and Recommendations to Stop LGBT Bullying in LAUSD•Panel Discussions on the following LGBT Issues: Suicide Prevention, Safe Schools, Mental Health Services, Transgender Issues, Community Resources•Opportunity for invited guests to dialogue with LAUSD and LGBT Community Partners – Recommendations & Best Practices for Anti-Bullying Programs and Suicide Prevention
